Planetarium Field Trip - Tuesday, March 10th:
We will be going to the Planetarium on Tuesday, March 10th. We will have 2 shows on the universe and space that we attend while there. On our way back to Lineville, we will stop at McDonalds for lunch. Students are welcome to buy their own lunch there, bring a bag lunch from home or get a box lunch from school to bring along. Please be sure to fill out what your child is doing by using the link below (if you haven't already). This is the same link that was emailed to you on Wednesday, March 4th. We will be leaving school right away in the morning after attendance is taken at 8:30 and then return around 1:30. Lunch Choice sign up link: 6th Grade Barlow Field Trip.
Wild Life Sanctuary/Bay Beach Field Trip - First Week in June
We are looking for chaperones for our Wild Life Sanctuary/Bay Beach Field Trip the first week in June. We are tentatively scheduled to go on Wednesday, June 3rd and are just waiting on final confirmation. In order to chaperone for a field trip, you need to go through the district volunteer approval process. Please see the link below if you would like to chaperone and are not already approved for this year. Also, please email Mrs. Petasek at [email protected] that you are interested. All chaperones will need to provide their own transportation to and from the place. We only have enough room on the bus for the students. The volunteer process can take 6-8 weeks to finalize which is why we are informing you of it now. Volunteer sign up link: https://app.betterimpact.com/Login/Login. Bay View Scheduling
It is that time of year to start thinking about next year. Bay View will be coming to Lineville to talk to students on Tuesday, March 31st about the different electives they can take there. There is also a parent meeting at Bay View on Thursday night, April 2nd to share this information and more with parents. Then the week of April 6th-9th, students will be able to choose the electives they would like to take at Bay View online. More information on this will be sent to you in an email from Bay View in the near future.
Living Legends Oral History Project
Last week your child was assigned the Living Legends Oral History project. For the project students will be conducting an oral history interview, creating a poster to display at the Living Legends History Walk, and creating a presentation to present in his or her social studies class. Please take some time this week to review and sign the project
packet with your child. Parent signatures for this project will be due Thursday, March 5th.

Schoology/Homework:
Please ask your child nightly what they have for homework. We give the kids time to work in class most days to complete their work, so they shouldn't have much. The one thing they do need to do is read 120 minutes per week at home. They will also have math homework daily, but should be able to get it done at school. Please check Schoology if you would like to see if your child is missing any assignments. Your child can show you how to do this.

Winter MAP Testing - January 6th-7th
We will be taking our winter MAP testing on Monday, January 6th & Tuesday, January 7th. Please be sure you child gets a good night's sleep and breakfast on these days. They also should bring their iPad to school fully charged. We test right away in the morning from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and then have an adjusted schedule for the rest of the day. Please try to have your child at school and on time these days, as they will have to make it up if they miss it.

On Friday, December 20th, the Navigator House is going to
celebrate all the hard work we have been doing. We will be
starting the day with an assembly, then watching a
holiday themed movie and ending the day with a gift exchange.
We are looking for families to bring in treats to share with the
house for the movie. Please email Mrs. Hayes or Mrs. Petasek if
you are able to do this. Students are welcome to bring in a drink
and a snack for themselves also.
The gift exchange is a surprise one in which every child who brings
in a $5-$7 item, will be able to leave with one. It is completely optional.
Schoology/Homework:
Please check Schoology with your child and make sure they are all caught up on their assignments. We would like everyone to be all caught up before we head into the winter break so the last few weeks of the quarter will go smoothly in January. If students are missing anything on December 20th, we will be having them complete that work before attending our celebration.

Halloween October 31st - Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school as long as they are school appropriate and don't cover the face. More information from Lineville will be emailed home closer to the date regarding specifics.

Veteran's Day Assembly- November 11th - Lineville will be having a Verteran's Day Assembly in the afternoon on Monday, November 11th. If you have a special veteran in your family, please invite them to join us.

Welcome to the Navigator House. We are so excited to have your children this year! We had a great first few weeks of school. We participated in activities to get to know each other (both students and teachers) and also went over some house/school rules. Last week we started our regular class schedule of math, science, social studies, and language arts.
All communication/newsletters will be either posted here or in Schoology. We try to send a newsletter out twice a month and daily assignments are in Schoology. Schoology is where we have all our subject and assignment information. We shared with students how to check Schoology, please ask your child to share it with you.
